It is almost panto time in Leamington and this weekend saw the cast getting into the panto spirit when they took part in the town’s Christmas light switch on.

J P McCue, who plays Dame Dolly Do It said “Being part of the light switch on is a great way to kick off panto season and get us all into the panto spirit on the day before we begin rehearsals and hopefully it has reminded those people who haven’t booked their tickets yet that there is not much time left!”

Sean Dodds adds “the weather was not great yesterday but we were pleased at how many people came out to support the event. I absolutely love spending the festive season in Leamington as it is a great town and everyone makes us feel really welcome.”

The cast are now in rehearsals for the show which opens on Saturday 3rd December. The show will once again be directed by Janice Dunn for the fourth year. She says “As always I am really excited to be directing the Spa Centre panto and thrilled to be working with some familiar faces one again as well as getting to know some of the new ones. The Spa Centre audiences love their panto which makes it a real delight to work on.”

In celebration of this year’s pantomime the Royal Spa Centre ran a competition for children to get creative and design their very own Beauty and Beast. The winners – Nuala Chiba and Alizee Valero designs were brought to life by Warwickshire College and were showcased at the Leamington Light Switch on.

Beauty and the Beast at the Royal Spa Centre in Leamington Spa stars JP MCcue as Dame Dolly Do It, Sean Dodds as Willy Do It, Carly Burns as Beauty, Daniel Tawse as Eugene, Matt Lee-Steer as the Beast, David Gilbrook as Arnold, Jamie Sheerman as Pimple and Emma Jane Wylde as the Enchantress.

Beauty and the Beast runs from Saturday 3 to Saturday 31 December 2016 and with some performances already sold out we recommend booking quickly for this magical festive treat.
