The Festival Committee has decided to transform the main festival, taking place this year from 3 to 9 October, into the Warwick Words History Festival.
The Festival will continue to host authors and guest speakers at morning coffee, afternoon tea, twilight and evening events in the beautiful historic buildings of Warwick, but our focus will now be history and historical writing, fact and fiction.
This new focus will bring together authors and readers to the town to celebrate not just the rich history and literature of Warwick itself and the county of Warwickshire, but also to showcase history-themed topics from further afield. Plus, in the run-up to the main History Festival events, we are developing an education project, Warwick Revisited, which will feature talks, walks, workshops, music and songs, all drawing on the fascinating history of the town of Warwick.
The full Festival programme will be available in July.
We are sure that you will support us in this exciting new venture and look forward to welcoming you to Warwick in October for the first Warwick Words History Festival.
