The railway industry’s celebration of Her Majesty’s 90th birthday.
Customers at Chiltern Railways Leamington Spa station enjoyed a festive atmosphere on Saturday at Leamington Spa station with a ‘look-a-like’ queen, a sumptuous royal cake and lots of other fun activities in celebration of the Queen’s 90th birthday. The event was jointly organised by Friends of Leamington and Chiltern Railways.
For the first time in history, the rail industry joined together with a host of community organisations including the local rail user group and Guide Dogs for the Blind, to celebrate the Queen’s milestone birthday. Leamington Spa station manager Karen Bowden said: “It was a great afternoon; staff and passengers enjoyed themselves in honour of the Queen. I felt so proud to be part of it!”
