Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum showcases distinctive designers

Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum supports young and local design talent by giving them the opportunity to present their work in the craft showcase.

The craft showcase, situated in the gallery shop, features a selection of contemporary pieces at affordable prices. Each item is unique and an artwork in its own right. This summer a new range of beautiful and colourful handmade items from two up and coming designers will be displayed.

Textile artist, Alison Dupernex, has created a range of stunning knitted silk scarves. Handmade beaded jewellery lovingly designed by Sulamith Killian-Carter (For Your Beads Only) is also featured.

Head Gallery Assistant, Roz Crampton said, 'I am so excited to be stocking work by such talented designer makers. These items are made to be treasured; they would make the ideal gift for any special occasion!'

Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum is taking part in the The Times 'A Year of Culture+' campaign which runs from 22 July 2010 until the end of June 2011. Each Friday from 22 July onwards, Times+ members are able to receive a 10% discount on any purchase from the gallery shop, including items from the craft showcase, providing that they show their Times+ card.

The gallery shop also offers a selection of greetings cards, postcards and other gift items.
